Annual Report
In the coming years we can expect great change in all aspects of our lives due to the new developments in genetics, robotics, nanotechnology, further development in information technology and the accompanying political and cultural changes. Worldwide there are 2 billion children of school going age. How can we prepare them to prosper in this rapidly changing, increasingly technological and complex world? How can they learn to design a better world for themselves and the planet? We are attempting to answer this challenge.
With the Designathon methodology we highlight the natural ability of children to come up with creative concepts for a better future for both, the people and the planet. Our goal is to help empower and unleash children’s creativity and to spread awareness about the importance of engaging children as co-designers of society. We do this by spreading our methodology through three pillars: school programs, bespoke designathon events and our annual Global Children's Designathon.
Designathon Works is an international social enterprise. Our goals is to reach a million children around the world with our methodology. All our activities are focused on increasing our impact on children and the rest of the world.
Designathon Works operates under the name: Stichting Designathon Works.
In this report, we will elaborate on the policy and the activities of Designathon Works in 2016.
